Moogfest 2011

Moogfest is an annual celebration of Bob Moog's legacy as a sonic pioneer.  In 1964 he invented the Moog Synthesizer and revolutionized popular music.

The festival is a three day multi-venue event held in Asheville, North Carolina - the place Bob Moog called home for the last 30 years of his life.

Asheville, North Carolina is not known as the Paris of the South just because of it's great restaurants and bohemian atmosphere, but primarily due to the large number of artists who live and work here.  Musicians, visual artists, and writers all thrive in our town.

Julyan Davis

Asheville is the home of many artists:  musicians, sculptors, painters, writers, and actors.  They've come from all parts of the country and the world, and somehow settled in this plateau in the middle of the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina.

I first saw Julyan Davis' paintings in a local magazine, The Laurel, several years ago.  Ever since, when visiting galleries in town, I've looked for his work and have been able to spot his paintings from across the room - his talent is that unique and breathtaking.
