Spring is around the corner and it is a beautiful time to visit the mountains. Over the next few months of Spring, there are plenty of activities and events going on in Asheville.

Spring Hike – March 27

We love to hike and decided to offer a guided hike for our guests. This will be complimentary for any guests staying with us. Our goal will be wildflowers but looking to include waterfalls as well, depending on the weather and trail chosen. This hike will be on Monday, March 27 after breakfast. Please note interest when making a reservation so we can discuss hiking details.

Reconnect with Nature Wellness Weekends – March 31 – April 2 and April 21-23

This weekend wellness retreat will reconnect you with nature. Take a deep breath, unwind and learn about the peaceful practice of forest bathing. Join a certified forest therapy guide for a relaxing 2.5-hour stroll through the forest. You will learn to slow down, relax and reconnect with nature by quieting the mind and awakening the senses. New Activities

Party Fire Engine Tour – Owned and operated by two local firefighters and specializing in tours of downtown Asheville, brewery tours, and group parties. Tours last from 2-4 hours and can accommodate groups up to 13.

Floating Brewery Crawl Tour – Starting in April, get ready for a unique experience combining beer and nature. Enjoy brewery hopping in Asheville while casually floating down river on a guided raft trip. Your guide will have a cooler with ice and you are welcome to bring your own beverages along. Relax and enjoy cold brews and river views.

What’s new and going on in Asheville this Spring:

Mondays in March Hiking with a Naturalist at Chimney Rock State Park

Every Monday in March spend an hour exploring one of the park trails with a naturalist on this guided hike. Watch the transformation from winter to spring on this educational excursion and learn some of the Parks’ history. Included with park admission.

Biltmore Estate Italian Renaissance – begins March 3

Biltmore’s newest multi-sensory experience, Italian Renaissance Alive, immerses you in the beauty of fine art and the masterworks of Michelangelo, Raphael, Botticelli, and Caravaggio. Watch history come alive around you with brilliant visuals, a compelling operatic score and a captivating narrative. This new experience begins at Biltmore on March 3. Ginger’s Revenge 6th Anniversary Celebration – March 10-12

Take a special behind the scenes brewery tour, enjoy live music, small batch beers and prizes. Raffle donations and tour proceeds help to support Asheville Music School. Another fun event coming up at Ginger’s Revenge is a Murder Mystery at their South Slope location on March 17.

Aleblazers Beer Fest – March 18

Enjoy beers from 25 different North Carolina breweries at Highland Brewing. Proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the Southern Appalachians Highlands Conservancy.

Spring Birding Walk – March 25

This walk is for the birders. Join a naturalist and see how many Spring migratory species you can spot from Chimney Rock State Park on their NC Birding Trail.

Spring Wildflower Walk – April 1

Join a Park naturalist at Chimney Rock State Park in search of wildflowers. This is a moderate hike that will take you along the Hickory Nut Falls Trail and down the Four Seasons Trail while you learn to identify beautiful spring blooms.

Orchid Festival at the NC Arboretum- April 1-2

The North Carolina Arboretum Orchid Festival is one of the largest in the southeast. See hundreds of orchids and also many spring blooms such as tulips and azaleas throughout their 65 acres of gardens and trails. The Western North Carolina Orchid Society will also be offering a variety of classes and lectures.

We are lucky to have great friends that grew up in Asheville. They have told us about some interesting local hauntings and strange experiences. With Halloween around the corner, we thought this was the right time to share some of these ghost stories and legends of paranormal activity.
