What Our Guests are Saying

"An ABSOLUTE Gem!"

"This B&B has everything! My husband and I stayed for three nights in the Margaret Grace room. The room was comfortable and clean, and coffee was available in the early morning across the hall, set up in an antique desk. You couldn't ask for nicer, more personable innkeepers - Karen and Steve are the best! Even though owning the B&B for only two weeks, one would never guess! They are naturals, advising of all the area attractions. Even the breakfasts were unique, family style so new friends are made over breakfast. Plus the breakfasts were delicious!

There is a guest pantry with snack and drinks, and a wrap around porch where we sat and watched the hummingbirds! Unfortunately, we didn't have the opportunity to sit around the fire pit - next time! The location cannot be better - close enough to downtown Asheville (within walking distance) but far enough away from the hustle and bustle. There are two first class restaurants - one is almost across the street (Jamaican) and the other a block or two away on the same street side (Italian.) We had a WONDERFUL time and hope to return in the not too distant future. I HIGHLY recommend The Lion and Rose!"

"Our New Favorite B&B"

"Spent 4 nights at this wonderful and charming B&B. The owners Karen and Steve are warm, welcoming, very helpful and personable with everything you might need. The location you cannot go wrong. Walking distance to restaurants in the neighborhood as well as to the downtown area. The homemade breakfast by the owners was delicious and plenty to get you started for the day. Our room was perfect size, comfortable and spotless. The wraparound porch and fire pit for hanging out was a relaxing amenity. We have stayed at plenty of B&Bs in this area and this is the best. We are making plans to return back to The Lion and The Rose."

"Superb stay at The Lion and the Rose"

"My husband and I stayed at The Lion and The Rose for three nights. We had a very warm welcome by Steve and Karen showing us around the house and making us feel at home. We also enjoyed swapping travel stories with them.

The house is full of charm, very clean, and in a convenient location. We enjoyed walking around the surrounding neighborhood one morning, relaxing on the wrap around porch, and around the fire pit chatting with other guests. Breakfast was delicious! They also accommodated an early start with a breakfast to go for us. We highly recommend staying here and and look forward to returning for another stay soon!"

"Pouring rain outside, cozy inside"

"We could not have asked for more gracious hosts. Tea 24/7, hot coffee early in the morning, cookies in the afternoon. Home brewed beer was a treat in the evening. Gave good recommendations for things to do and places to walk. Room was clean and comfortable. Shower clean and water hot (a must for me). Breakfast hearty. Lots of lovely old homes are B&Bs in Asheville. The Innkeepers make the difference."

"Wonderful and friendly!"

"Just spent 2 nights there to celebrate my granddaughters birthday! This is my 4th time staying. The inn has just acquired new ownership and they are just as friendly as Lisa was! I plan to stay there everytime I come to Asheville!"

"It was like staying with family!"

"Karen and Steve, your B&B is beautiful and we wish you much success. Thank you for a couple of lovely nights."

"We had a truly amazing stay at The Lion and the Rose. The food was phenomenal, our room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The owners Steve and Karen are truly two of the nicest and accommodating people you will ever meet. My husband and I were celebrating our sixth wedding anniversary and there was a sweet treat waiting in our room upon check in. We also enjoyed sitting outside with a glass of wine by their fire pit. I would highly recommend staying here and we cannot wait to come back!"
