In just under two weeks, Steve and I will be celebrating our seventh inniversary here at The Lion and the Rose Bed and Breakfast. Where has the time gone? We’ve been through a pandemic and a hurricane and luckily, we are happy to still be here doing what we love. We feel privileged to be the innkeepers of this beautiful, historic inn and to have met so many wonderful people. Many thanks to both our repeat and new guests for giving us the opportunity to be your home away from home while visiting Asheville.

Has it been a rough year after Hurricane Helene? Yes, it has. The hurricane caused not only physical damage but emotional effects for a lot of us in Asheville. The darkest days are long behind and Asheville has been open and welcoming visitors since late last year. The trees are lush and green, the flowers are blooming, and the air is cool and refreshing. Downtown businesses will welcome you with a smile and a thank you. The Blue Ridge Parkway is open to explore the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains. And the Fall colors will be showing up soon. All the places you love are waiting for you and there are so many reasons to visit Asheville. Hopefully we give you another reason to come back sooner than later.

To show appreciation and thanks to all of our guests, we have created a new loyalty rewards program. This rewards program will be retroactive back to when we started this adventure on September 12, 2018. There is nothing to sign up for. Our reservation system keeps track of the number of nights and stays you have had.

Haunted Asheville

We are lucky to have great friends that grew up in Asheville. They have told us about some interesting local hauntings and strange experiences. With Halloween around the corner, we thought this was the right time to share some of these ghost stories and legends of paranormal activity.
